Kenston Scrimmage 2006

The Shoremen looked much sharper, particularly on defense, as the varsity squad shut out the Kenston Bombers in a two-quarter simulated game.  The secondary looked strong as Anthony Dominguez returned to action at free safety, and Scott Davey moved to rover where he played an outstanding game.  Jeff Tell was healthy again after missing the Midview scrimmage, teaming with Scott Shaffer and an improving line to give the Shoremen a strong ground attack. Nick Firment connected with Tom MacGeorge on 4th and 9 from the Kenston 12 for the only scoring in the simulated game.

The JV squad opened the evening with a dazzling display of long scoring runs by Alex Jones.  After a 40 yard Pete Hart to Peyton Armbrecht bomb on the first play, Jones scored on runs of 30 and 70 yards on perfectly blocked toss sweeps.  He later added a 55 yard TD on a nicely executed option pitch set up by a great fake by QB Dave Spring.
