"Shoremen at the Next Level"

The Mount Union Purple Raiders wrapped up a perfect 15-0 season Saturday evening, defeating Wisconsin-Whitewater 35-16. The victory in the Stagg Bowl gave the Raiders their second straight NCAA Division 3 National Title. It was still a close game at 21-13 in the third quarter when 2004 ALHS grad Matt Kostelnik burst through to block a Warhawks punt. Teammate Matt Rees picked up the ball and returned it for a 34 yard TD that broke Whitewater’s back. Kostelnik, who was named the first team All-OAC strong safety, added 4 tackles and an 11 yard punt return. Congratulations to Matt from everyone in Shoremen Country!!!
