"Shoremen at the Next Level"

The coaching staff and fans at Mount Union College are quickly learning what Shoremen fans already knew: There’s not much Matt Kostelnik can’t do on the football field. Starting at safety for the Purple Raiders, he recorded four tackles and an interception. In Saturday’s other action:

• Jon Schroeder carried 14 times for 33 yards as Ashland suffered their first defeat of 2005, falling to Grand Valley State by a score of 14-10
• Freshman Scott Bennett, defensive tackle at Mercyhurst, recorded 5 tackles, one for a loss, and forced a fumble. His Lakers lost to Northwood, 35-7.
