Big
Ten freshmen Andrew Means
(Indiana) and Trey Stross ( Iowa) made their respective teams’ travel
squads, but both have been beset by
injuries. B-W & Mount Union both had
byes this past weekend. In Saturday’s
action:
- Shawn Brunner recorded four solo (seven total)
including a sack and a half as Oberlin crushed Macalester 44-14 at
Stipule, MN.
- Jon Schroeder carried seven times for 17 yards and
caught one pass for Ashland
U. The Eagles shut out Gannon 27-0.
- Freshman defensive tackle Scott
Bennett played well in his first action for Mercyhurst College. Scott had two tackles, including one for
a loss, but his Lakers fell 24-20 on a last-second touchdown by Michigan
Tech.
- Also seeing action for the first time
was Fordham College freshman tackle Ian Pace.
